[3478] "Captain Dobbin was instrumental in preventing an invasion of Wales by the French at Fishguard in 1797. He was presented by H.M. Excise and Customs with a very handsome sword in token of their Lordships' appreciation of his meritorious conduct and services. He was at that time in command of H.M.
