GRAVE ON LEFT:- Inscription - In Devoted Memory of WILLIAM FERGUS MACKAIN, Chief of the Ancient Family of Ardnamurchan who fell asleep in Christ 19 Sep 1912 aged 87 years. Also of Katherine Anne his beloved wife died 13 January 1925 aged 84 years.
GRAVE ON RIGHT:- Inscription - ....buried M.....WILLIAM JAMES MACKAIN........ WILLIAM FERGUS MACKAIN...KATHERINE MACKAIN who entered into rest(?) 25 March 1936 in his 82nd(?) year. And now Lord what is my hope ? Truly my hope is ever in thee. And of HELEN faithful wife of the above who departed this life 13 January 1938. The flower fadeth but the Word of our God shall stand forever.
Both Memorials display the McKain coat of arms and are identical in design. That of William James is much more weathered, despite being younger in date - presumably because the stone of the older one is of superior quality.
