LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

This is the last Will and Testament of me, Canon William James Mackain, Chieftain of Ardnamurchan Argyllshire, Clerk in Holy Orders of Mingary Lodge, Claremont Road, Tunbridge Wells.

I appoint my son Clifford Arthur Mackain and my daughter Irene Helen Isobel Bremner (hereinafter called "my Executors") to be the Executor and Executrix of this my will.

I bequeath the following pecuniary legacies namely:-

I bequeath to my said son Clifford Arthur Mackain all my jewellery, furniture, plate, plated articles, linen, china, glass, books, pictures, prints and other household effects.

I devise that all the before mentioned legacies shall be free of Duty.

I devise to my said son Clifford Arthur Mackain my freehold messuage known as Mingary Lodge, Claremont Road, Tunbridge Wells in fee simple and it is my wish that my said son shall provide a home for his mother during her life if such be agreeable to her wishes.

I bequeath all the remainder of my Estate not hereinbefore disposed of unto my Executors UPON TRUST to sell, call in and convert into money the same and I DIRECT my Executors out of the moneys to arise from the sale, calling in and conversion of my residuary estate in the first place to retain and pay all my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and the pecuniary legacies bequeathed by this my Will or any Codicil hereto and the Duties thereon and to hold the surplus of the said moneys IN TRUST to divide the same equally between my son the said Clifford Arthur Mackain and my daughter the said Irene Helen Isobel Bremner.

In the event of my said son predeceasing me without leaving issue then I DEVISE AND BEQUEATH to my said daughter all the property and interest devised and bequeathed by this my Will to my said son hoping that she will retain the pictures, plate and heirlooms for her son.

I REQUEST my Executors to see that when my coffin is taken from the Church for interment it may be covered by my tartan.

Signed by the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
