[887] I met Aunt Lou, as she was then generally known in the the family, just the once, as far as I'm aware, in the late 1960's in a pub in Chelsea (possibly the Coopers Arms, Flood Street). Aunt Lou said she could see I was a Mayhew and I remember her as a stout lady with hints of ginger in her hair. At the time I was 'courting' Ann Ainsby who lived in Slaidburn Street, Chelsea (a location associated with my family (Mckain/Middleton/Mayhew) going back to at least 1868. Ann and I were distant relations (4th cousins once removed) through Thomas Hainsby (c1780-1853).
